How do I get a library card/renew my existing library card?

Answer

All Burlington County residents are eligible for library membership! Those residing in Moorestown, Willingboro and Mount Laurel, who do not pay the dedicated county tax, are eligible for paid membership. If you reside outside of Burlington County, you can also pay this membership fee. You can apply for a library card visiting the library or by filling out an online application.

You can find the online application here. Once you fill out the application, you will receive a temporary barcode which will allow you to request up to 5 items via the online catalog.  To receive a permanent number and activate your account, you will have to visit the location you selected during the application process and present a valid ID/proof of residency within 60 days. To apply for a card in person you will need to present a valid ID/proof of residency.  Examples of ID/proof of residency include a driver's license, school ID (elementary, middle or high school), or utility/phone bill.

A standard library membership expires every two years. To renew your card you can send a picture of your ID/proof of residency to cardrenewals@bcls.lib.nj.us or you can also present your ID in person at the library.
